Just got the Zumba Toning Sticks for our Thursday night class in Lake Ann. If you haven’t tried Toning yet, come out tonight to see how fun and effective these weighted maraca sticks are for adding toning and shaping to the cardio of Zumba!

Support us in the Autism Walk

Next weekend my family and I will be donning our Halloween costumes and walking for my son Gideon and our local Autism non-profit support and advocacy group – Autism Resource Network.

It is the first fundraiser walk that we’ve put on for our local group, and I wanted to give all my Zumba fanatics a chance to get involved.

Tonight and over the next week I’ll have a donation box with me at class. If you’d be willing to contribute something to support our team in the walk, you can be a part of supporting our local Autism community through this really great organization.

Even if you can give $10 it will go a long way towards educating families and physicians and advocating on their behalf.

Please come to class prepared to give, with a check (made out to ARN) or a few bucks cash.

Fall Zumba Party Playlist

We kicked off this fall with a sweet new playlist for our Zumba Fitness routine. One of the great things about Zumba is that in addition to the music they make available to me as an instructor, I can select my own tunes for a large part of the routine.

I make it a real priority to choose music that you can’t help but dance to and music that I love too! (I mean, I have to listen to this list every day!)

Generally I start introducing new songs into a routine once we get 4 or 5 weeks into a season, so keep your ears peeled for a new song or two within the next few weeks. But for now here’s the list of tunes that are burning hundreds of calories for us every workout!

Zumba toning starts tonight at the Lake Ann United Methodist gym. I am so excited about adding this extra class to our roster. I am really loving it right now and I can’t wait to have a whole party Toning together!

Taking Labor Day Off

West Side Returns with Deal of the YEAR!

Well…. I know alot of people have been waiting and waiting (and hopefully not using the break as an excuse to skip the workout)…

But Zumba Fitness is coming back to West Side Community Church!

Last spring our class was amazing, with up to 100 people in the class! I’m guessing a lot of you heard about our Monday nights at West Side over the summer and now is your chance to see what everyone’s been talking about!

DIY Workout Equipment

Unfortunately nobody can make it to Zumba every day.

It is important to work up a sweat every day though.. at least for 20-30 minutes. I’ve been running on my “days off” to supplement my Zumba Fitness workout. I really turned it up a notch about a month ago when a friend suggested registering for a half-marathon.

It seemed pretty much impossible at first, but just the other day I ran 7 miles for the first time and I think doing another 6 might not be so bad.
